Ellen Goldstein is a certified leadership coach and international development consultant with nearly forty years of experience leading multicultural teams to deliver development results in Africa, Asia and Europe. She is passionate about building a better world—and has the leadership development tools to do it. As a coach, she helps leaders unlock their full potential to transform vision into results for lasting social change.
As a senior executive at the World Bank, Ellen led multicultural teams and managed portfolios of $2-6 billion to achieve development results that transformed the lives of the poor—even in fragile and conflict-affected environments. With expertise in strategy development and results-based management, Ellen led analyses of economic and social conditions and defined multiyear strategies to spur growth and reduce poverty. Whether combating malnutrition in Southeast Asia, empowering communities in West Africa or creating more effective public services in the Balkans, teams under Ellen’s leadership were inspired by a shared vision to go beyond initial goals for the greater good.
Ellen specializes in strategic response to crisis and uncertainty. She led strategic shifts in World Bank programming toward good governance in Bangladesh and toward inclusion and peace in Myanmar. She was founder of the World Bank Results Secretariat and co-Chair of OECD-DAC Joint Venture on Managing for Development Results. She is a speaker and trainer for organizations such as IFAD on operating in fragile and conflict-affected countries, managing decentralized programs and enhancing client focus.
Ellen is President of EAG Global Leadership which provides leadership development tools to support strategic planning, improve team performance, and ensure accountability for results. She is a certified leadership coach from Georgetown University’s Institute for Transformational Leadership and accredited by the International Coaching Federation. She is supporting leaders in international agencies, governments, corporations and nonprofit organizations worldwide, including clients from the World Bank, OECD, Habitat for Humanity, Change Healthcare, and Generations United.
